THE CHILD OF LIGHT

I had a dream once upon a time...it was vivid ,real, ethereal and beautiful. I wrote it down exactly as I dreamed it.

                                          ……EVEN IN DARKNESS A LIGHT DAWNS…..

In a place far away there was a kingdom. It was a secluded land tucked away by the sea.                                                                               The time came for a child to be born to the King and Queen.  The child was a girl. She was beautiful to behold and everyone who gazed at her was moved and loved her deeply. And they called her ‘Beloved’. The child grew and was adored by all in the kingdom Time passed and the Queen gave birth to another girl child.  She did not posses the physical beauty of her sister, but there were those who saw something special in her smile.  A light that came from deep within.                                                                                                                They called her ‘Devoted’ for as the two girls grew a bond formed, for the younger child was committed to her sister and admired her for all the qualities that she thought she did not have herself...  The Girls loved to play by the ocean collecting seashells.  They would laugh and giggle and Beloved would  tell her sister “the seashells will hold our secrets”  The girls would hide their shells full of secrets as the wind danced around them whispering in their ears SISTERS HAVE BUT  ONE HEART.  The girls grew in strength, beauty and grace.  When the third child was born the kingdom rejoiced for the child was a boy – an heir to the throne.  He was called ‘The Promise’ for he would fulfill the plans for the kingdoms future.  As the boy grew he longed to be with his sister’s, to be free and play at the ocean.  The boy would lean out of his window, and the wind would call him but the sound of the scholars sent to teach him drowned out the words of the wind that were blowing through his heart.  Time passed and the children grew- and it came to pass that Beloved fell in love with one of the Kings knights.  Although everyone else in the kingdom adored Beloved, the Knight did not return her feelings.  Beloved was so afflicted because no one had ever spurned her attention let alone her affection that she took to her bed and could not be comforted.  At the same time the Boy who was called the Promise heard another voice deep in his heart and was deeply conflicted.  Was he not the one to rule the Kingdom according to the plan that was set before him?  Yet he longed to journey to a far off place where the wind does not blow off the sea. He longed to be in a place where there was no pressure to fulfill a plan so great. That very evening when the moon was high in the sky above the sea, the boy jumped on his horse and left the kingdom. The wind blew trying to keep the boy from running away, but the boy was determined to follow his own way.  He rode hard until breathless he stopped at the line separating the kingdom from an unknown land. He dreamed of this land, a land that seemed to hold his unattainable happiness. But as his horse took that first step over the line he could not continue.  He did not know what to do and was doomed to cross back and forth over the border to the kingdom for he could not see the path to his destiny.  He had truly lost his way.   Back at the kingdom the people called out to the one they call ‘Devoted’. Along with the King and the Queen they cried out to her   where is The Promise, haven’t you found him and brought him back to us?  We need ‘Beloved’ haven’t you comforted her?  The girl carried her own pain but they could not see it, and she ran from their words but they chased her. They swirled around her and wove themselves together into a cloak of hurt, bitterness and resentment that she put on. The cloak was so heavy that it blocked the light that was deep inside the girl and she could not see her worth, for words are powerful things.   She ran to the ocean, to a small cave on a cliff where the two girls had hidden their seashells. She cried out to the wind in pain.  The wind carried her cry and an amazing thing happened.  The light that had been hidden burned so bright that it dissolved the cloak of hurt, bitterness and resentment and the one called ‘Devoted’ finally knew her worth and who she was and her soul was at peace.  The light flooded the kingdom and fell through the window on the one called ‘Beloved’ and it touched her heart and she knew she was completely loved and whole.  The light continued to the one called ‘The Promise’ who had lost his way. The wind called his name and the light energized his spirit and he saw his true path. And in that light he rode off to his destiny with confidence.

........AND THE SAME WIND THAT CAME OFF THE SEA AND DANCED ON THE CLIFFS MOVES OVER THE LAND WHEREVER IT PLEASES.  SOMETIMES POWERFUL …SOMETIMES GENTLE BUT ALWAYS MOVING.  WHETHER IT IS THE MIGHTY OAK OR JUST ONE SINGLE BLADE OF GRASS AFTER IT PASSES YOU KNOW IT WAS THERE……

Finding Mercy Street

Finding Mercy Street

“and God was there like an island I had not rowed to,
still ignorant of Him, my arms, and my legs worked,
and I grew, I grew,
I wore rubies and bought tomatoes
and now, in my middle age,
about nineteen in the head I'd say,
I am rowing, I am rowing
though the oarlocks stick and are rusty
and the sea blinks and rolls
like a worried eyebal,
but I am rowing, I am rowing,
though the wind pushes me back
and I know that that island will not be perfect,
it will have the flaws of life,
the absurdities of the dinner table,
but there will be a door
and I will open it
and I will get rid of the rat insdie me,
the gnawing pestilential rat.
God will take it with his two hands
and embrace it”
― Anne SextonThe Awful Rowing Toward God
Where is Mercy  Street ? Why are they hiding the entrance ? They say free is free and than they grab the freedom  and security with scowls and 'must do's' to enter.
Like Anne Sexton in Her Poem I know my inner rat . Sadly Anne took her own life hoping she would find the Mercy Street after death she could not find in this life.  I am not looking for nice Church Lady answers ...I am looking for a people who love like Christ and embraces that rat as is. People who will say come along side with us as we gaze upon and seek The Lord, who takes our place and brings us onto Mercy street. We enter because we are with Him and for no other reason. And once we  see that and spend time with Him, He Lavishes the Fathers love  while we  still  have rat stink on us. We will not stay in that condition for long ..and not because we have to do something but because you know who you are ..and who He is ...and what  He has to offer is Good News! We live trusting In the Holy Spirit to change us from Glory to Glory ..not fake it till you make it! We need less fake...we need more real grime! Come now and believe on the One who will not only show you where Mercy street is ..but will take you and keep you there...because it's all about Him ..not us!

Obviously, we would all prefer that this life would be a sweet and easy life; no one would ever ask for pain, loss, bitterness or wailing. Suffering and sorrow were not a part of God’s original plan. It is our sin and evil on this earth that create suffering, hunger, slavery, human trafficking, persecution, perversion, abortions, assaults and murder.

Our journey in this realm contains both sweetness and bitterness. As the Son of Man, who could identify with all of our temptations and trials, the Lord Jesus knew both the bitter and the sweet. As He showed us how to triumph in both, we must follow His example. When we are taken to be with Him, only sweetness will remain. But for now, we share in the fellowship of His sufferings (Rom.8:17).

When my family lived in Israel, there was a haunting song that was very beloved, written by Israeli songwriter, Naomi Shemer. In Hebrew, the song is called, “Al ha D’vash v’al ha Oketz,” which means, “The Honey and the Sting.” An approximate translation of the lyrics would be: “Oh God who is good, please watch over the honey and bee sting, the bitter and the sweet. Watch over our baby daughter. Do not uproot what has been planted in us and do not take away our hope. Watch over the rushing waters and the blazing fire, and guard us. Keep watch over both the honey and the sting, both the bitter and the sweet, dear Lord, I pray.”
It seems to me that this is a mature and wise perspective, as we now enter the time of both glory and suffering. Before our eyes, the earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the seas (Hab.2:14); but the same generation will see the greatest time of sorrow ever seen in this world, not to be equaled before or after this generation (Matt.24:21).

May the Lord watch over His people, both Jewish and Gentile. May He keep Israel in the day of her trouble. May He help and protect all who call upon His Name, and may His people be kept through the days of sweetness and bitterness. We will remember Your love in that day, and we will testify: “We have tasted Your goodness; Your love is better than wine!” (Psalm 34:8, Rom.10:13, Song of Sol.1:2.)-- Jill Shannon

Recapturing Wisdom..Be a Woman of Strength and Dignity

RECAPTURING WISDOM.....Abundant medicine yet no healing, and the meeting of the mighty in battle with no apparent victor.  Do we wander in shame because we have lost our way- or did we willfully choose foolishness?  When we deliberatly leave the path of light to explore the recesses of darkness, often we are to smart to find our way back home.

WISOM CAN BE DEFINED AS THE INTIMATE EMBRACE OF TRUTH.......
Actually the apprehension of wisdom may be simpler than you first suspect- it is available to all-I believe there is  but one major difference between wise and foolish women.  Do you want to know what that is?
Knowing when to let go....and when to hold on.
Thats it.  Wisdom is always found in this dynamic of change......
Wise women know what to hold fast to and what to release, while foolish women hold on fast to what will kill them and release what will bring them life.....-LISA BEVERE                            go as far as your power allows, and if nothing changes you have no choice but to let go- excerpt from Fight like a Girl- -LISA BEVERE

Don't argue with Prideful Crazy People !

EVERYBODY HAS AN ELVIRA GULCH (wicked witch)

You know it and I know it - we all have an Elvira AKA the Wicked Witch in our lives. Male or Female it makes no difference. As a child I loved the Wizard of Oz and looked forward to the once a year showing on TV (around Thanksgiving). No dvd's back then- Well anyway I always hated the part where Auntie Em confronts Elvira Gulch for being such a miserable and mean person. She is just about to tell her off and BAM- she stops and says well being a good Christian woman I just can't and runs off !! All the while I am screaming YES YOU CAN!! Well let me tell you every time I saw that I would get so mad. I so wanted her to tell her off- she deserved it did't she. You would think by the millionth time I saw this I would realize the movie wasn't going to change. It is only in the past few years I get why she didn't yell at her. 1. You cannot argue with crazy, mean people. You will never win. You may be on the right side of things and have facts on your side and you will still not get them to see truth or God forbid change. You only end up looking like a crazy lunatic yourself. 2.You will say things you normally wouldn't say and get more emotionally upset than needed. You will either regret what you said or think of 50 better things you should have said. 3. You will not feel better. If you want peace you have to let go - holding on just makes you relive the hurt pain and frustration over and over again and they win. I am sure Elvira's don't spend to much time thinking of how they effect other people. Remember misery loves company and the sweetest revenge is being happy and successful- and that happens when you move on. Also The Wicked Witch does get it in the end-
