FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

The right to religious freedom- free speech and political thought are all things we have taken for granted in this country. I pray for these people in Pakastan - they are truly courageous- Let us take an example from them and speak out for things we are loosing- the right to make our own choices- these brave people are in a very small minority - yet they stand firm- even in the face of death.

PLEASE READ AND SIGN_YOUR HEALTH CARE DEPENDS ON THIS

I know you're shocked to hear this ... but members of Congress are planning to keep their gold-plated, taxpayer-funded benefits packages while putting the rest of us into a government health care plan. If this new plan is supposed to be so great, why aren't they going to join it?

What hypocrisy.

There's even more hypocrisy and outrageous political payoffs in this health care takeover.  Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus wants to tax our health insurance to help pay for the government takeover - but their scheme exempts the unions from the tax increases!  I'm not making this up.

Along with members of Congress and federal employees, union members have the biggest, richest benefits packages in the nation, but they would be exempted from this new tax.

Let Congress know how you feel about a government takeover of health care by signing Americans for Prosperity's "Hands Off My Health Care" petition today.

Today, MoveOn.org is organizing protests at senators' district offices to demand a government-run health insurance plan with the provisions I just described to you.

If you haven't yet signed the petition online, telling Congress to keep their Hands Off My Healthcare, sign now! You can start taking action before you even leave your computer.

We will win this battle to protect our health care - if we fight.

Sincerely,

Tim Phillips

TEENS IN CRISIS

OUR TEENS ARE IN CRISIS

It is very important to keep the lines of communication open about sex- BE THE ONE to tell them what is acceptable- There is no time to be embarassed- the world is not- and takes every chance it gets to drop seeds in your childs mind.                            'Oral Sex Is the New Goodnight Kiss'By CLAIRE SHIPMAN and COLE KAZDIN                                                                                                      In the documentary, "Oral Sex Is the New Goodnight Kiss," girls as young as 11 years old talk about having sex, going to sex parties and -- in some extreme situations -- crossing into prostitution by exchanging sexual favors for money, clothes or even homework and then still arriving home in time for dinner with the family."Five minutes and I got $100," one girl said. "If I'm going to sleep with them, anyway, because they're good-looking, might as well get paid for it, right?"Another girl talked about being offered $20 to take off her shirt or $100 to do a striptease on a table at a party. The girls are almost always from good homes, but their parents are completely unaware, Azam said."The prettiest girls from the most successful families [are the most at risk]. We're not talking about marginalized girls," she said. "[Parents] don't want to know because they really don't know what to do. I mean, you might be prepared to learn that, at age 12, your daughter has had sex, but what are you supposed to do when your daughter has traded her virginity for $1,000 or a new bag?"
16 and Pregnant? No Big DealBy Sarah Knoploh )
June 15, 2009 - 14:57 ET Some statistics: According to the National Center for Health Statistics, 86 percent of mothers who give birth out-of-wedlock are teenagers. According to the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, only 40 percent of teenage mothers ever graduate high school; two-thirds of families begun by an unmarried teen mother are poor; and “Virtually all of the increase in child poverty between 1980 and 1996 was related to the increase in nonmarital childbearing.”
'Condom Cards' Given to Youth to Combat Teen PregnancySaturday, June 06, 2009
Boys as young as 12 are to be issued with condom "credit cards" allowing them to pick up free contraception at football grounds, barber’s shops and scout huts.Condoms will be distributed at places where boys congregate, to spare them the embarrassment of visiting sexual health clinics or GPs’ surgeries or facing a shop assistant at a pharmacist's counter. They will be able to collect the condoms by showing a plastic card issued to them after they have attended a safe-sex lesson, according to new government guidance. Boys who take advantage of the scheme will not have to give their names or answer questions about their sex lives. The Sunday Times-          June 6 2009

Very Interesting article-a very smart women

Star Parker

Obama has little in common with

Lincoln

Lincoln could make hard decisions

It's ironic that Barack Obama chooses to infuse these opening days of his presidency with the imagery of Abraham Lincoln.

I don't think there could be two more different men. Understanding why may help us think about what to expect in the days ahead.

Beyond his trademark "change we can believe in," Obama's defining theme has been unity and inclusiveness. "... There's not a liberal America and a conservative America -- there's the United States of America ... We worship an awesome God in the Blue States ... and have gay friends in the Red States."

Obama, of course, does not suggest that we don't have differences. His point is that those differences are not critically important and they're getting in our way. Let's put differences aside, get practical, and solve our problems.

The inaugural ceremonies have pastors for everyone. A white evangelical that opposes same sex marriage, a white homosexual, a left wing black male and a left wing black female.

His economic stimulus plan has large government expenditures to please Democrats and tax benefits to please Republicans.

Lincoln, too, sought unity. But Lincoln's notion of where national unity would lie was far different from Obama's.

He prophetically stated the challenge after accepting the Republican nomination for the senate in 1858.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure half slave and half free. I do not expect the union to be dissolved. I do not expect the House to fall. But I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other."

As historian Harry Jaffa points out, " For Lincoln, as for Jefferson and for all genuine supporters of the principles of the Declaration of Independence, the distinction between right and wrong is antecedent to any form of government and is independent of any man's or any majority's will."

Lincoln knew that some principles are so fundamental they cannot be compromised. He knew that we couldn't ignore our key differences. Unity could only come from facing them and making the hard choices.

He knew that even though there were competing religious claims on the issue of slavery -- some found biblical sanction in it -- we would still have to choose and decide who we are.

As Americans killed each other, he observed: "Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God ... The prayers of both could not be answered ..."

We have many Americans today who read the same Bible but see the truths that define this country very differently. And, of course, we have Americans who do not see the Bible as relevant to those truths at all and those who would claim that there are no truths.

As Lincoln observed, the prayers of all cannot be answered. Unless we're resigned to meaninglessness, we must believe that our future will reflect today's choices.

On the hardest moral dilemma of his day, Abraham Lincoln stepped up to the plate and took a stand. He did not say that it was above his pay grade. And this is what makes Abraham Lincoln very different from Barack Obama.

Each time has its challenges. Americans feel betrayed by what they see as unethical behavior in American business and in Washington. Yet few seem to appreciate that moral problems lie at the root of our faltering economy.

Sanctity of life and sanctity of property are cut from the same cloth of eternal law.

In the view of many, including me, it's this law that defines our free country.

Our new president, who sanctions both abortion and massive government intrusion into our economic lives, sees things very differently.

So let's not pretend these fundamental differences don't matter. How we choose will define our future. As Lincoln said, the nation "will become all one thing, or all the other."

Take Action! Cap and Trade Vote passes the House

Cap-and-trade is a tax on coal, oil, and natural gas but instead of being a specific tax rate, the total level of use is capped, then companies and farms are forced to pay the government for the right to stay in business by buying emissions permits.  They bid against each other and nobody knows how much the tax will be until they hold the auctions.

It's a crazy, unpredictable tax.

President Obama himself explained last year in a San Francisco Chronicle interview: "Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."-APF
PLease contact your Senators-  this bill must be stopped- it will be the voice of the American people that accomplishes this!

Fortunately, we have always believed the place to kill this bill is the U.S. Senate. We will do everything we can to educate the public about the danger that this legislation poses for their family budgets and their economic freedom to help the voices of millions of grassroots activists be heard on this issue.

If the American people understand what this bill does, it will die in the Senate.- Tim Phillips                                                                Final Waxman- Markey vote( Cap and Trade Bill)in the House last night-check out how your  Rep.  voted on this bill and remember the next time you vote . This will effect everyone , not only in taxes but more lost jobs- even Greenpeace does not endorse this- Spain and other European countries are changing this policy because it does not work - The real offenders will just pick up and move to China or India - leaving a financial burden on the American people-by lost jobs and taxes. DID YOU KNOW THIS!

N. Korea threatens US; world anticipates missile

South Korean war veterans wave national flags during a rally denouncing NorthAP – South Korean war veterans wave national flags during a rally denouncing North Korea's nuclear program …

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea threatened Wednesday to wipe the United States off the map as Washington and its allies watched for signs the regime will launch a series of missiles in the coming days.

Off China's coast, a U.S. destroyer was tailing a North Korean ship suspected of transporting illicit weapons to Myanmar in what could be the first test of U.N. sanctions passed to punish the nation for anunderground nuclear test last month. The new U.N. Security Council resolution requires member states to seek permission to inspect suspicious cargo. North Korea has said it would consider interception a declaration of war and on Wednesday accused the U.S. of seeking to provoke another Korean War.

"If the U.S. imperialists start another war, the army and people of Korea will ... wipe out the aggressors on the globe once and for all," the official Korean Central News Agency said. This is interesting considering North Korea is threatening to fire missles aimed at Hawaii-  The Obama administration's changes in the  defence budget   include-     Major Anti-Missile SystemsScrapped Several major weapons systems that the different armed services, and of course the big defence equipment manufacturers, have been pushing for over the years have simply been scrapped, either in the development phase itself or in terms of further production. Most of these were high-technology advanced or even futuristic systems designed for total dominance over all possible adversaries beyond their foreseeable capabilities well into the 21st century.

Advanced missile or anti-missile systems have taken a major hit. Funding for the Missile Defense Agency has been cut by $1.4 billion or about 15 percent and at least one major programme has been eliminated.-D. Raghunandan Delhi science forum

Didn't the tax payers have to hand over that money to bail out failing car companies and all the pork-earmarks like turtle bridges  in the stimulus package-  If you had asked me I would have gone for the missle defence and I am thinking the people of Hawaii would agree!

Please contact your Senators and Representatives

I am not disputing the fact that health care needs to be reformed- just the fact that government running it is a big mistake. I worked in the health care industry for over 17 years and have had alot of health issues myself, so I understand the importance of good health care.I also delt with a lot of patients over the years that have come to the US to have medical and dental work done because they either could not get the care they needed or the wait was to long in their own country.
I have written on this before but I  want everyone to understand what is going on -please read this                                                                                                                                                                    HERE COMES HEALTH CARE RATIONING
By Dick Morris And Eileen McGann

The photo op was too good to be true. Health care providers trooped out of the White House and trumpeted their goal of saving $1.7 trillion of costs over the next decade in health spending. Now these drug companies, hospitals, insurance companies, medical device manufacturers, labor unions and doctors have laid out their plans in more detail.

And right there, in plain print, is the beginning of medical care rationing. Now that the cameras have been put away and the media is no longer watching, their secret emerges: They are going to cut medical costs by cutting medical care. Right now, they cite four targets. They plan to:

1. Cut diagnostic imaging tests like MRIs and CAT scans.

2. Reduce the use of antibiotics.

3. Perform fewer Caesarean sections.

4. Cut care for management of chronic back pain

These decisions will not be medical but financial. They will not be based on a doctor’s opinion of what his or her patient needs, but a bureaucrat’s and an accountant s opinion of what the new health care system can afford.

And you will not be able to bypass their rulings and pay for this care yourself. The rules laid down must be followed and private payments will not be permitted to override them. What we now call a private fee for service will metastasize into a bribe.

But this is just the very beginning of rationing. The total of health care spending now runs about $2.3 trillion a year in the United States. Over ten years, that’s likely to reach $30 trillion. So a cut of $1.7 trillion is a mere drop in the bucket.

More rationing is coming, and coming soon.

FOOD RECALL ALERT

Nestle recalls Toll House cookie dough products

AP – Nestle is voluntarily recalling all Nestle TOLL HOUSE refrigerated cookie dough products. (PRNewsFoto/Nestle)

NEW YORK – Nestle USA on Friday voluntarily recalled its Toll House refrigerated cookie dough products after a number of illnesses were reported by those who ate the dough raw.

The company said the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control are investigating reported E. coli illnesses that might be related eating the dough.

In a statement, the FDA said there have been 66 reports of illness across 28 states since March. About 25 people have been hospitalized, but no one has died.

The FDA advised consumers to throw away any prepackaged, refrigerated Nestle Toll House cookie dough products in their homes. Retailers, restauranteurs and employees at other food-service operations should also not sell or serve any of the products.

YOU WILL PAY FOR CAP AND TRADE

YOU WILL PAY FOR CAP AND TRADE

Who Pays for Cap and Trade?Hint: They were promised a tax cut during the Obama campaign.Cap and trade is the tax that dare not speak its name, and Democrats are hoping in particular that no one notices who would pay for their climate ambitions. With President Obama depending on vast new carbon revenues in his budget and Congress promising a bill by May, perhaps Americans would like to know the deeply unequal ways that climate costs would be distributed across regions and income groups.[Photo]APPoliticians love cap and trade because they can claim to be taxing "polluters," not workers. Hardly. Once the government creates a scarce new commodity -- in this case the right to emit carbon -- and then mandates that businesses buy it, the costs would inevitably be passed on to all consumers in the form of higher prices. Stating the obvious, Peter Orszag -- now Mr. Obama's budget director -- told Congress last year that "Those price increases are essential to the success of a cap-and-trade program."Hit hardest would be the "95% of working families" Mr. Obama keeps mentioning, usually omitting that his no-new-taxes pledge comes with the caveat "unless you use energy." Putting a price on carbon is regressive by definition because poor and middle-income households spend more of their paychecks on things like gas to drive to work, groceries or home heating. The Congressional Budget Office -- Mr. Orszag's former roost -- estimates that the price hikes from a 15% cut in emissions would cost the average household in the bottom-income quintile about 3.3% of its after-tax income every year. That's about $680, not including the costs of reduced employment and output. The three middle quintiles would see their paychecks cut between $880 and $1,500, or 2.9% to 2.7% of income. The rich would pay 1.7%. Cap and trade is the ideal policy for every Beltway analyst who thinks the tax code is too progressive (all five of them). The New york Times Opinion Journal                                                                                                                   PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES ANDSAY NO TO CAP AND TRADE!!!!
