Thanks for the heads up Britt- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

Operation Beautiful header image 5

The Mission

One of my biggest personal crusades is ending Fat Talk. If my little blog only does one productive thing, I hope it helps readers realize how truly toxic fat talk is — it hurts you emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I want to reach as many people as possible with my End the Fat Talk message. If you’ve never read myFat Talk page, check it out here on Healthy Tipping Point.

Recently, I stumbled upon the Gives Me Hope website, and I was inspired to start my own random act of kindness crusade — Operation Beautiful.

Operation Beautiful is simple: all you need is a pen and a piece of paper.

I’ve begun leaving positive messages on the mirrors of public restrooms — at work, at the gym, at the grocery store. I scribble down whatever comes to mind — "You are beautiful!" or "You are amazing just the way you are!"

My goal is to leave as many Operation Beautiful notes as I can. Maybe some people read them and just smile, but I bet some people are truly touched by the effort of a random stranger.

If you want to join the mission, send me an e-mail atseebriderun@gmail.com with a photograph of your Operation Beautiful note or a description of your experience, and I’ll post it on my blog and on this page! If you’d like to be considered for the upcoming Operation Beautiful book, check out the Submissions page.

To Someone who is missed-

In my Garden I remember you- In the fall when my Garden is holding on with it's last bloom - I remember your struggle. In the winter when my Garden is hard and no blooms are to be found -I think of your bravery. In the spring when the first flowers fight to break through the frost and soil- I know I will not forget you. In summer when my Garden is beautiful... full of life - I remember you the most - - to L love K

Special Place

Light reflecting, in my eye,
Cloudless blue of august sky,
Shadows lurk in nature's womb,
I'll take this place to my tomb.

Morning wakening, air crisp,
A welcoming breeze, nature's breath,
An inward battle, self a test.

Tranquil freedom, warming calm,
A creative spec, of gods own palm,
Gone untouched, nearly unknown,
Those who see a place as such,
Can understand, it’s more to touch.

We bring purpose, reason to go,
Return with peace, nothing to show,
Like a mouse in a field, lost astray,
I continue my journey, alone on my way. -Colin F. Gload
